Boquete is a charming, yet funky, town typical of Latin America. Fear not! Have a look around, take a breath, and slow down. The friendly people will charm you immediately.

After checking into your hotel room try a walking tour of Boquete. Stop in some shops, practice your Spanish, and get a feel for the local charm. Stop by the Romero supermarket (near central park) and do some price comparisons of things you find at home. Chicken, rum, fish, vegetables and coffee are very cheap, imported goods (Kraft cheese) are not. Next stop by a local restaurant for a refreshment (cervesa nacional for a dollar, or less) and dinner.
